With boys...we know this day would probably come. Our first trip to get X-RAYs.
Saturday morning, Ian fell/jumped/??? off of Levi's bed (at least that is what we could make out of what he told us) and hurt his foot. He limped around on it for a couple of hours..then asked to outside to play for a little bit - so we did. But then when he woke up from his nap Saturday afternoon, he would not put any weight on his left foot or walk. He asked us to carry him out to the den. Matt & I tried moving his foot and he just sat there and cried..saying it hurt. It looked a little swollen and red, but nothing to bad. We debated taking him to the ER, but decided to give him some Tylenol and ice it and see what happens. Ian spent the remainder of Saturday on the couch watching football with Matt, occasionally asking us to carry him to the bathroom or the kitchen table. Sunday, was spent pretty much the same..except Ian decided he could crawl and play on the floor as long as he wasn't using his foot. He didn't have any more swelling, but when we asked him to try to walk he would say that his foot was "BROKE". A couple of time, we saw him try to go from crawling to stand on both feet and he would just buckle to the floor. So this morning, I called his doctor and made an appointment to get his foot looked at. Minutes before we left the house...Ian started walking gingerly on both feet. Still, I kept the appointment and after the doctor watched him walk up and down the hall(Ian wobbling the whole time) decided that we better get an X-RAY just in-case.
I had to hold Ian down while they took a couple picture of his foot...but we are so thankful that the X-RAY came back negative. His doctor called me later and said that it is just a bad sprain and that Ian is ok to do all of his normal activities unless he complains that his foot hurts and then to just let him rest for a little while.
So as of today....we have a 3 year boy and almost 2 year old boy and NO BROKEN BONES!!
