Singing in the RAIN!

Wednesday mornings, we usually go to Chick-fil-a for toddler time....but this morning we woke up to RAIN.  I decided that it was not worth it to load up the boys in the pouring rain - so we hung out at the house.  I spent most of the morning going through the boys clothes - putting away summer clothes, getting out fall/winter clothes - seeing what I have and what I need.
We could hear when it was raining harder and they kept running to the windows to watch. I knew the question was coming..it was only a matter of time!
"CAN WE GO PLAY IN THE RAIN?"

Being  a little overwhelmed with the huge mess that I had created in the boys room with clothes all over the place...I decided to join them!
In my bare feet, I went running through the sopping wet grass in my bare feet in the pouring rain!
A WONDERFUL FEELING!
Ian and I were loving it...
 Levi - not so much..

that was until I got him a towel to wrap up in!

Cubbie

Our little Cubbie!
This year, Ian gets to participate in a program called AWANA at our church.

Being Gentlemen..& Helpers

The boys are big on trying to be "Gentlemen"!  They have an awesome Daddy who is a GREAT EXAMPLE of this!
They want to hold the door open for EVERYONE!
Matt makes me feel special when he opens the car door for me, he makes smile when he goes running to help an elderly couple with their shopping cart and the fact that he is teaching our young boys to look out for their mommy and others - makes me PROUD!

My little boys are always asking to help me...

They make a great team!

Big Boy...

I have been working diligently for the last couple of weeks on "potty training" with Levi! He is doing SO good.  He is wearing BIG BOY underwear all the time when we are at home (and he stays dry)!  He still wears a pullup when we go out, but hopefully in the next couple of weeks we will be DIAPER FREE (except for at night)!

Family & Friends

visit from PA!!

Last Friday night, our good friends Sheridan and Erin came for a visit.

Saturday, we all went to Hendersonville, NC for the Apple Festival
Sheridan & Erin always spoil the boys with some special gift.  This year they brought them both a "Mater" (from CARS) box full of stickers and each a remote control car/jeep!
We had a wonderful weekend with our friends!
We spent most of the evenings playing bowling/mario cart on the Wii ...talking
and LAUGHING!
Sheridan and Erin left, Monday morning and then we anxiously awaited my parents arrival! They got here Monday afternoon!

One thing I LOVE doing when my mom is in town is baking!
This was an Apple Pie made in a skillet!  It was so yummy!
We started most of the mornings with a quick trip to Chick-fil-a, since it was a promo week for free breakfasts!  This was our favorite!

As always, there was reading time with Mimi...
(see in a prior post pictures...)
....Playing Wii with PopPop!
Before we knew it...it was time for them to go home....but thankfully we will see them again in a few weeks when we take a trip to PA!

Our last visitor...was Matt's Aunt Janie.  She was staying with Matt's parents for the week, but we had them over tonight for dessert!

Wii

A couple of weeks ago, Matt & I decided to purchase a "FAMILY GIFT".
A Wii

Can you tell how excited these two little boys were?

We got a lot of use out if it in the last couple of weeks with all of visitors!

Growing boys!

Our boys are growing up so fast.
It is hard to believe that in a few months Ian will be FOUR....

 and Levi will be THREE!

This year at the parks
1. They are fearless - it has been fun to watch the boys climb to new heights

(even if it does make me a little nervous at times!)

 2.  They love making new friends
Ian is quick to introduce himself and his brother to anyone who will listen!

Here the boys were showing me their "Hamburger Helper" face
(I am NOT a hamburger helper fan...but it all started one night when that was what we were having for dinner and Ian saw the happy face on the box.  He thought it was so funny)

Any resemblance?

Above, the boys love to play outside in the rain...here... they were happy just to sit out in it with towels to keep them warm!
